Use Keywords With Intent

Words are so incredibly important, especially when search is a big part of the equation on LinkedIn. Using the right keywords in your profile is the difference between being found and being invisible. Identify the words you want to be found for when people use LinkedIn search and use those keywords in your headline, summary, experience, and skill section.  Using the right keywords will expose you to more potential connections and opportunities. Most people understand that keywords can make the difference between your LinkedIn Profile shining like a bright star or being lost in LinkedIn Land. If you work in an industry that has career-specific terms, it’s a good idea to include these keywords in your profile (80%) . If you know the transferable skills, you also have, make sure to include them as well (20%). One tip to source “key words” is through job postings. And… don’t worry about overuse  (unless it feels and reads unnaturally). Making sure to place key words strategically throughout your profile is the name of the game on LinkedIn.
