Entrepreneurs can benefit from having a connection action plan and strategy with LinkedIn. Making a list of people you would want to do business with in the future like clients, investors, ambassadors, and potential partners. But also, don’t forget to connect with those past/current clients. They will be “key” to making those significant and meaningful introductions. Introductions are powerful on LinkedIn.
Next, create a highly-personalized note for each person and send them requests. When you’re opening up dialogue, don’t forget to avoid hard-selling, and instead focus on how you can build a relationship. The template you use may want to include some significant information. I always customize the introduction but add three significant key points that can help establish credibility. I also may reduce or change my points depending on who I am reaching out to.
