slow down, you move too fast…

slow down, you move too fast….

As the last days of June wind down, and we move into the hot hazy days of summer, there is only one thing to do…nothing. This is the time of year, more than any other, that begs us to just stare and breathe. To feel the warmth of the sun on our skin, and pass a lazy hour watching the clouds float by. July is here to remind us there is nothing to do and nothing to seek, because what we are seeking has already found us. We just need to be quiet and listen. Everything we need is here.

With gratitude,

Jessica and Tracy
Can you create a successful business while leading from the heart? What does leading with kindness look like? In this week’s podcast we talk with Robin Kovitz, the CEO and founder of Baskits Inc., about how having a more “feminine” approach to business is not only doable, but profitable too.
Together Together, is a surprising film. It may be the first film that has ever dealt with a single man who wants to be a father. With two beautiful, honest, sweet, witty and compelling performances, it will surprise you right up to the very last minute. Don’t miss it!
Dancing Queens is a funny, smart film about a young woman who is disguised as a man pretending to be a woman. It’s also about loss and grief, and the ripple effects of both. Directed by Helena Bergstrom, and with a dazzling breakout performance by Molly Nutley, it’s a perfect summer movie.
Somebody once said “Comedy is just tragedy plus time.” That’s why it takes an extraordinary actress like Jean Smart, who can seamlessly move between comedy and drama, to play an aging female comic legend in the new HBO series, Hacks. Hardened by a life of clawing her way up in a male-dominated business, this is a funny, insightful, and sometimes painful look at the world of making people laugh.
We’ve just finished reading Sinéad O’Connor’s autobiography Rememberings and it’s fantastic! Her remarkable voice and trademark shaved head made her famous by the age of twenty-one, and her recording of Prince’s Nothing Compares 2 U made her a global icon. She outraged millions when she tore up a photograph of Pope John Paul II on American television. And now she tells her story – the heartache of growing up in a crumbling family, her early forays into the Dublin music scene, her escapades in the world of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll, the fulfilment of being a mother, her ongoing spiritual quest – and through it all, her abiding passion for music. It is a book you’ll want to read more than once.
