Recovering from feelings of failure

I try not to use the word failure in my life. It’s one of those big bad f words. (I’m sure you can guess which other ones I’m thinking of). In the big wide world of experiences, failure is one of those experiences that forces you to learn. For me, whether in my personal life or in business, the focus should not be on failing, but instead on what you do after you feel you have failed.

Invest in yourself

What does investing in yourself really mean? I’ve asked myself that question many times over the years. Jessica and I have even done a vlog on it. But when it really comes down to it, how much am i really worth to myself and why do we shy away from spending money on what seems like frivolities such as getting a massage, taking a day off, or as I just did, going away for a week to a wellness retreat in Mexico?

Wom*n and the Fringe

Since 1989 the Toronto Fringe Festival has been a hub for creativity in the performing arts. Bringing people together of all performance mediums, indie or not-so indie, and venues, in an alleyway, a pool, to large scale Toronto stages. Having developed over the years as a member of the theatre community, I felt that Fringe was always an amazing space to make connections and learn about my theatrical “style”. I could find what I liked, appreciated, or was curious to know more about.

Recommendations are important on LinkedIn. These public recognitions of aspects of your professional success are a way to build your credibility and value. LinkedIn recommendations are easily verified. Whoever reads the recommendations can visit the profile of whoever gave it you and evaluate the source’s credibility.
